Position:
Localization Engineer
Group: Engineering
department (Technology Group)
Position Purpose:
The
localization Engineer will, for all components of a localization project
(Software, Help and/or Docs) and under the direction of the Engineering
Manager, be involved in the full process:

Position
Requirements:
- Extensive
computer experience preferably in the translation/localization business.
- Experience with
recent Windows OS required. Macintosh or Linux knowledge is a bonus. Effective
English communication skills, written and verbal. Additional languages
appreciated. Extensive knowledge of
industry-leading localization tools
- Ability to
prepare localization projects and knowledge of linguistic and technical
L10N
- Attention to
detail, quality minded and ability to work independently.
- Enthusiastic,
self motivated and flexible, good time management skills.
- Awareness of
project management procedures and methodology.
- Ability to
multi-task
- Scripting
experience is preferable.
Position
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and
prepare all software components (executables, help, readme, script and
batch files, etc.) for translation. This includes verifying source and
executables, marking source files, compiling glossaries, writing overviews
and instructions, and other tasks for the scheduling and efficient
translation of software products. This process typically includes the use
of C.A.T. tools (Computer Aided Translation) on the analysis,
preparation and processing of online help files.
- Compile,
resize/format, test, deliver, and backup the software, help, readme, and
perform all other software tasks necessary for the efficient and timely
completion of software localization in accordance with our quality
standards. Find, solve, and document problems, bugs, or other
issues that effect the localization of software and hardware products (For
clients and iSP staff).
- Work as a team
member to make sure that each project is finished within scheduled
timeframes.
- Provide daily
feedback to the Engineering Manager on project progress.
- Coordinate
problem identification and resolution activities between translators and
clients. Ability to take on a project lead role.

In-house tools.
